I didn't read the content (@adwk67 does), but to me https://docs.stackable.tech/home/stable/trino/usage-guide/connect_to_trino/ would be a good place to have this. |
There was a problem hiding this comment.
This is really helpful - thank you! Just minor things. I think it fits better in the Trino ODBC driver repo, though (users may well need this without SDP, and if they use SDP with it they will need the ODBC driver anyway), and linked to from our (trino) docs and the postgresql-trino gateway.

I disagree on this one. It is not only about the ODBC driver and on top of that the ODBC driver is not linked anywhere in our docs right now, right? It's not included in our documentation. |
We should definitely add links so you can find this from wherever in the docs you start, but I just think docs should be as close as reasonably possible to the thing they are documenting (in this case, since it is fairly unlikely that someone will use Trino ODBC without Power BI or Power query, I think that is in the Trino ODBC repo). |

This is not a usage guide for the ODBC driver though. This links to the ODBC driver and just lets people know that it exists in the first place. |
Adds a how-to guide under Guides that answers "I run Power BI X, how do I reach Trino on SDP?"
We've had this question a lot this year and it's not easy with so many options.
I hope this clarifies it.
