fbcon_init() suppresses the logo when console_loglevel is at or below CONSOLE_LOGLEVEL_QUIET, so "quiet" (or loglevel<=4) on the command line stops the fullscreen splash appearing at all. A user who has asked for fullscreen_logo=1 has explicitly requested a splash, so don't let quiet override it. After this PR has landed in an APT-kernel, then raspberrypi/rpi-splash-screen-support@1b72b4c can be reverted, and that would then allow #7081 to be closed 🙂 ⛓️ |

With
quiet(orloglevel<=4),fbcon_init()suppresses the logo, sofullscreen_logo=1shows no splash at all. A user who setfullscreen_logo=1has explicitly asked for a splash, so don't letquietoverride it.Patch suggested by @flyeriNsomniac in #7081.
Tested on a Pi 500 with
quiet fullscreen_logo=1 fullscreen_logo_name=logo.tgaand noconsole=tty1: without the patch no splash is drawn; with it the full image is drawn with no text over it.Fixes: #7081 (the
quietpart; text drawn over the splash withoutquietis unchanged)
