fix(db): retain failed demand during loading sibling replay - #2318
A new include demand can fail while a sibling subscription still replays a truncated source. The query must keep its last complete result. Previously, a successful sibling load could expose an incomplete replacement. This failure blocked publication after #2311 and also reproduces on #2312.
The fix checks for any pending source replacement when the demand fails. The previous guard covered only failed replacements. Each subscription keeps its own verdict while the graph shares publication. Demand retirement and successful own coverage remain the recovery controls.
The release also exposed an independent SQLite campaign reach failure. Its comparisons passed, but random histories could miss recovery during final catch-up. The grammar now constructs that boundary in every history. It preserves the arbitrary tail, model, comparisons, 80-run budgets, and reach minima.
Evidence
Law: Architecture law 9 and “Replay participants and failure” require complete publication during shared replay.
Reach: The primary owner constructs 48 histories across directions, widths, settlement counts, and later actions. Failure, retirement, and own-recovery reach are 44, 33, and 12.
RED: The extended owner fails on unchanged main at the quiet retention comparison. The original report uses seed -533188721, path 428:3:3:6.
GREEN: All 45 primary tests pass in one run with the stronger request-error checker. The three neighboring files pass all 21 tests.
Mutant: Restoring the old guard fails the intended retention comparison. I restored the final source and verified its hash.
SQLite: Both 80-history campaigns pass. Each reaches final catch-up recovery 80 times. Both existing final-delivery replays pass.
Checks: Focused TypeScript, formatting, whitespace, and pnpm lint:changed pass. ESLint reports zero errors and two existing warnings.
Limits: Evidence covers core Collection publication and SQLite/coordinator code with controlled Electric streams in Node. It does not establish provider, framework, Effect, deeper-include, or browser-process behavior.
The versioned experiment record preserves source fingerprints, intermediate failures, model scope changes, and the historical recovery-reach gate limitation. That recovery reach work followed the first runtime trial. The retention RED and receiving path preceded the runtime edit.
This PR includes a patch Changeset. After merge, the normal workflow will prepare a new release PR. The failed release attempt published no packages. Rerunning its old commit cannot include this fix.
Request-error checker and bounded scope
Review 5719714297 found an oracle exemption that combined sibling subscriptions by source keys. The checker now retains subscription identity for later requests and coverage. Production lists the injected error in the distinguishing histories. A targeted omitted-error control passes the old account and fails the new health comparison. The existing 96-history grammar reaches that assertion in four histories.
The coverage-map owner remains the primary load-subset replay oracle. Its bounded claim covers held include failures during a loading sibling replay, demand retirement, and later own recovery. It observes core Collection rows and request-error identity after commands, quiet loading, and authoritative recovery. The versioned amendment records calibration, reach, intermediate failures, and limits.
All 45 primary tests pass on this branch. Focused TypeScript, ESLint, formatting, whitespace, and changed-file checks pass. ESLint retains two existing warnings. The full pnpm test suite did not run. This follow-up changes only the oracle and evidence. Runtime code and the measured shipped-size results remain unchanged.

Bug Fixes
Live queries now retain their existing results when a newly requested include fails during a sibling replay, instead of publishing an incomplete replacement.
A successful sibling load no longer clears the failed demand or publishes an incomplete replacement. The failed demand can be retried, and results update after the required loads complete, the demand is removed, or a later source replay succeeds.

Walkthrough
The change updates live-query replacement handling when a demand fails during sibling replay. It adds subscription-scoped replay accounting and bounded histories for database replay behavior. It also extends the browser multi-tab oracle to generate a reset that abandons an open reservation.

The ready-query failure path now checks for a pending truncate replacement, rather than only a failed one. The architecture and release record describe the held-publication behavior and the failed replacement case.
The oracle tracks replay failures, successful coverage, recovery, retirement, and error ordering per subscription while preserving a shared publication barrier.

Generated histories now catch up tabs, partially advance a source tab, and reset its reservation from a peer. The evidence record describes the scenario and its coverage boundaries.
Measure chance reach misses in oracle properties #2289: The issue concerns missing reach states in random oracle histories. This change extends the SQLite campaign grammar with a reset-abandoned reservation scenario.
The replay fix retains the last complete result. No material merge-readiness issue is established.

Scope sibling coverage to the failed subscription.
The sibling-success history uses different plans and subscriptions. Its successful load is a replay participant, not an ordinary load after the failure. When the replay completes, its verdict clears request-error entries source-wide and publishes the replay failure.
The current source-wide covered check still treats the successful sibling as recovery and skips checkRequestErrors. Scope loadedKeys, askedLater, and covered to the failed subscription so the assertion checks the replay failure at this cut. Keep recovered source-wide because replay verdicts clear all plans.
