Was reading the article on the preview page but it looks like we need to fix the code rendering so allows horizontal scroll. Article looks good at first glance. |
.prose .highlight clips (overflow: hidden) to keep its rounded corners, so lines wider than the column were cut off. Scroll the wrapper Chroma renders around the line-number table instead; the copy button stays put.

Thanks for reading it! The clipping came from the theme rather than the article: |

If you're happy with the preview, I'm happy to land it. Thanks for the fix! |

Thanks! I re-checked the rebuilt preview at 1280 px and 390 px: every code block scrolls where it needs to and nothing else moved. Happy for it to land. |
This adds an article, "Normalize the Loudness of a Folder of Videos with PowerShell and FFmpeg", and my author profile (made with
tools/new-author.ps1).The article builds an advanced function that measures every video in a folder with FFmpeg's two-pass
loudnormfilter. It normalizes the files that miss the target inForEach-Object -Parallel, supports-WhatIf, skips files that are already within tolerance, and re-measures what it writes. It also covers the problems I ran into: reading theloudnormreport from stderr,$using:and runspace scope in-Parallel, a colon after a variable inside a string, and whenloudnormfalls back from linear to dynamic mode.I drafted this with Claude Code; every command in it was run on PowerShell 7.6.9 with FFmpeg 9.0.2, and the output shown is from those runs. PSScriptAnalyzer reports no findings for the function, and the site builds with Hugo 0.155.1 with
