From 25dc9f601cc2a70f700537fca02095e72a55a21e Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Gabi Podolnikova Date: Fri, 30 Oct 2026 11:54:51 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] fix(CI): use America/New_York instead of EST for unit tests Since Oct 29 the Unit tests job fails 3 timezone-dependent Timestamp tests on every PR. The root test script runs jest with TZ=EST, and GitHub's ubuntu-latest image migrated from ubuntu-24.04 to ubuntu-26.04 between the last passing run (Oct 27) and the first failure (Oct 29); on the newer image TZ=EST no longer applies the UTC-5 offset and jest runs as UTC instead. EST is a legacy POSIX-style abbreviation rather than an IANA zone. America/New_York is identical to EST (UTC-5, standard time) for every date used in the Timestamp tests (all in January/February), so no expected values change. Full suite passes: 396 suites, 3902 tests, 914 snapshots. --- package.json | 2 +- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/package.json b/package.json index baca63a1b19..431ffef9de9 100644 --- a/package.json +++ b/package.json @@ -106,7 +106,7 @@ "start": "yarn build && concurrently --kill-others \"yarn watch\" \"yarn workspace @rh-felt/react-docs develop\"", "start:cypress": "lerna run cypress:open", "start:demo-app": "lerna run dev --scope=demo-app-ts --stream", - "test": "TZ=EST LC_ALL=en_US.UTF8 jest packages", + "test": "TZ=America/New_York LC_ALL=en_US.UTF8 jest packages", "test:a11y": "lerna run test:a11y --stream", "test:integration": "yarn workspace @rh-felt/react-integration test:integration", "uninstall": "find . -name node_modules -type d | xargs rm -rf",
